President Uhuru Kenyatta has warned politicians against using his name to gain political mileage ahead of 2017 general elections.
Apparently, some politicians have been going to their constituents saying they personally received greetings from the President on behalf of residents in order to gain popularity.
“Someone will tell you I sent greetings through them so you can support them. I want to make it clear that I do not play favorites and I do not endorse anyone,” said Uhuru.
The President said Kenyans should decide as they know who they want to lead them.
“People are able to establish who is a good leader and decide who to elect. I will not, and have not endorsed those who invoke my name to seek support from you,” he said.
Uhuru has ruled out endorsement of candidates for elective positions under the Jubilee Party.
