Politicians have been urged to engage in politics of development to spur growth in their respective regions rather than engaging in propaganda.

On Thursday, President Uhuru Kenyatta said the country was struggling development wise due to politics of propaganda and hatred.

Uhuru who is on a two days tour to vote rich Western province also urged residents to vote in leaders who are development oriented.

“Many of the politicians are now embracing politics of propaganda, a reason why we are not making significant progress. We need to shape our country with development ideologies,” he said.

“It is my wish that people will learn to elect leaders who are development oriented and that are what I want you to do in 2017. Our politics must change for us to make progress,” he added.

Uhuru expressed confidence in winning 2017 elections, saying that his government had done exemplary well in improving people’s livelihoods.
