President Uhuru Kenyatta has said the government will continue to avail every possible legal means to curb corruption.
Uhuru who spoke during his New Year speech on Saturday said corruption is a vice that his government will no relent in dealing with.
"We continue to make available every legal effort to prevent and deal with corruption in the public service. The multi-agency approach has continued to bring more cases of senior officers suspected of fraud and theft," he said.
Uhuru insisted that courts should go beyond just arresting and prosecuting to convicting those found culpable.
He also said he had confidence that the new Chief Justice David Maraga will be able to bring to book those considered 'untouchable'.
"I have been and will remain equivocal that we must go beyond arrests and prosecutions to conviction," he said.
"To this end, I am heartened that the new Chief Justice has risen to the challenge by assuring us that the rich and powerful accused will not be allowed to abuse the court process to delay justice," he added.
