President Uhuru Kenyatta has issued a warning to drug barons in the Coast region.
Speaking at GPO Posta in Mombasa on Tuesday, Uhuru said drug barons in the region will be eliminated, as they have negatively affected the lives of residents, especially in Mombasa.
The Head of State reiterated that the government will not sit and watch as youth continue to fall victim to the menace.
"The government is going to eliminate all drug barons who have for a long time had a hand in affecting the lives of Coast residents. The government will not allow the lives of youth to be destroyed by drug barons who have turned the area into a drug capital," said Uhuru, as quoted by The Star.
He further called on youth to shun drugs and instead look for jobs that will enable them earn an honest living.
The president also urged youth to shun violence as the August 8 election draws closer.
