President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto have once again reiterated their confidence in winning the August polls, saying they have done a lot for the country.

The two said infrastructure has developed in the recent past, a clear indication that the county was moving in the right direction.

They also pointed out their investment in education, allocations for social welfare and other projects including the Last Mile were enough to see their re-election.

Speaking in Meru on Saturday during a campaign tour of the region, Kenyatta further took issue with the opposition, whom he accused of being interested in a few individuals who support them.

He further noted that his coalition will respect all Kenyans, and preserve their rights to own property in any part of the country.

“We will continue to respect that home is where one is settled, is trading, working, learning or farming and that all Kenyans have a right to call any part of this country home,” he said.

Deputy President William Ruto on the other hand campaigned for Jubilee Party candidates, ensuring he urged locals in all the stops they made to support the party.

The locals however gave out mixed reception of Ruto’s request, with most of them holding banners bearing names of independent candidates.
