Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has said Jubilee Party will have an uphill task in Gusii region in the forthcoming general election.
Speaking during an interview with The Star on Sunday, Bosire said it will be difficult for President Uhuru’s Jubilee Party to garner 15 per cent in the vote-rich region.“If Uhuru gets 15 per cent from this region (Gusii) he will be lucky,” said Bosire, as quoted by the daily.“We are not fools anymore. The President was in Kisii, the larger Gusii, when he was looking for votes. He promised many things. To this day, there is nothing tangible. In Nyamira, there is nothing and when I say nothing it’s nothing. At the moment, he is struggling to find a hole through which he can come to look for votes,” added the ODM national treasurer. His remarks come as former UN-Habitat ambassador Sam Ongeri is set to officially defect to the Raila Odinga-led ODM party on Monday. Both Jubilee and the opposition have intensified their hunt for votes in Gusii region, which is viewed as a Raila stronghold.
