Nyamira Jubilee campaign team has vowed to minimize opposition forces within the county and deliver for Jubilee party leader Uhuru Kenyatta.
Despite his persistent tour to Gusii region, President Kenyatta’s campaign team has been facing hostility from locals who accuse the government of neglecting them.
But on Sunday, the campaign team under the stewardship of ODM rebel Kiangoi Ombasa warned the opposition of a stiff challenge in August.
“It hasn’t been easy but we have done enough that can deliver Uhuru’s re-election. There is no doubt about that,” said Ombasa.
“We will walk to all villages and spread the same gospel. Opposition has nothing to offer and I am confident that we shall deliver for Jubilee,” added Walter Nyambati, who also doubles as Jomo Kenyatta Foundation chairman.
The unity meeting was the first of its kind in as many months after cracks were reported within the Nyamira campaign team.
Also president were Charles Mochama, William Nyakiba, Jerusha Momanyi and speaker of the assembly Joash Nyamoko.
High level sources within the Jubilee campaign team indicates that President Uhuru Kenyatta will be on a charm offensive in the region in few weeks’ time.
