[Photo/Niaje.com]Barely a week after research company Ipsos Synovate released the results of their opinion poll which established that the August 8, elections will go into a run-off after President Uhuru gained 47 percent compare to NASA's Raila Odinga 42, a new research has indicated a different story. The recent survey by African Electoral Observation Group(AEOG) revealed that Uhuru will beat Raila in the August 8 polls without having to go for a run-off.The survey shows that President Uhuru will emerge victorious in round one with 51.7 percent against Odinga's 39 percent approval rating. The observers also established through their research that of the 19.2 million registered voters only 16 million voters will turn out to cast their votes, this represents 89% of voters turn out.According to AEOG, Uhuru's first round win is boosted by the likelyhood of a higher voter turn out in Jubilee strongholds compared to perceived NASA strongholds and also said that a majority of undecided voters were found in Western and Coastal regions. In 2013, President Kenyatta beat Mr Odinga by over 800,000 votes after garnering 6,173,433 votes (50.51%) against Mr Odinga’s 5,340,546 (43.7%).
