Devolution Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri has expressed confidence that Jubilee will retain power in the forthcoming August 8 elections.

Speaking in Mwatate, Taita Taveta county on Saturday, Kiunjuri said president Uhuru Kenyatta will defeat the National Super Alliance (Nasa) flag bearer Raila Odinga with around two-three million votes.

According to the cs, Uhuru’s performance over the last four years is one of the reasons Kenyans will re-elect him.

Kiunjuri also noted defections from Raila’s party, ODM, to Jubilee, have weakened the opposition team thus making it difficult for Nasa to beat Jubilee.

“Go to Marsabit, Isiolo, Kwale, Kilifi and even here in Taita Taveta, where strong opposition leaders have defected to Jubilee. This is an indication Jubilee will win this election with a landslide. Opinion polls have also suggested that Uhuru is going to win,” said Kiunjuri.

“We defeated them when Uhuru and DP William Ruto had court cases at the ICC. Will they beat us when we are free?” asked Kiunjuri.

He urged the locals to vote for Jubilee candidates in all the elective seats.

Kiunjuri was accompanied by Taita Taveta senator Dan Mwazo, senatorial aspirant Joyce Lay and woman representative hopeful Lydia Haika.
