Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has said President Uhuru Kenyatta will support his bid for the presidency in 2022.
Speaking in Rongai, Nakuru during the homecoming party for his brother, Raymond Moi, the Senator claimed that Uhuru is his buddy and 'will do it when that time comes'.
The Senator said Uhuru has been close to them and even belonged to KANU.
"Mr Kenyatta knows what he will do when that time comes," Moi stated.
The statement by the vocal Senator puts President Kenyatta in tight spot ahead of the 2022 contest.
President Kenyatta has in the past announced that he would be backing his deputy William Ruto for the top seat in the next general election.
The DP's team has, however, been hit by suspicions over Uhuru's close relationship with the Moi family and specifically the former President Daniel Moi who is considered his political mentor.
