President Uhuru Kenyatta’s approval ratings have declined, this is according to research firm Ipsos.
However, if elections were held today, he would garner 47 per cent of the total votes cast, while his rival, Raila Odinga, would attain 43 per cent of the votes.
5 per cent of the registered voters are still undecided on who they will vote for, the pollster says.
With just 15 days to the August polls, the latest opinion poll results indicate that 61 per cent of Kenyans feel the country is heading in the wrong direction, while 27 per cent believe Kenya is on the right path.
According to Ipsos, 53 percent of Kenyans approve of Uhuru’s performance in government while 41 percent disapprove.
The opinion poll was conducted from July 3 to 12 this year.
Only 2,209 people were interviewed.
Released on Sunday, the polls show that 40 per cent of Kenyans have confidence in Uhuru, while 39 per cent trust Raila.
