President Uhuru Kenyatta together with his deputy William Ruto have in a show of humility gone on their knees while in their tour in Kitui county seeking spiritual intervention on the political stalemate in the country.
The president landed in Kitui shortly after campaigning in Garissa and had earlier on Monday toured Nyahururu on a vote-hunting mission.
Former Mwingi Central MP Joe Mutambo in his welcoming note to the top Jubilee leader's said there were issues that had denied them votes on the August 8 elections thanking the DP William Ruto for having dissolved them.
Mr Mutambo said the had moved to campaign for the president promising to ensure they delivered a majority vote and asked the leaders to ignore him completely should he fail to ensure they were voted in as pledged.
Former Independent candidate for the Kitui Governor race David Musila said the area residents had a myriad of challenges which can only be solved by being in government.
He said the people were eagerly waiting for the rolling out of the free secondary education program an water projects initiation so as to transform the county.
"The people have been asking me for direction and we all eager for the October 26 repeat polls and we have gone to all parts of the county things have changed.We will surprise you with the number of votes we will cast in your favor," said Musila.
The Akamba clans council Chairman Boniface Kilonzo said the president had earlier been made an elder of the Akamba and named 'Mutua Kenyatta' and he had stool to the position and served the people.
He thanked Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko who was at the Nzombe Jubilee campaign for having issued the elders with a matatu blaming the Wiper party leader of being full of empty promises.
