President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday advised Chief Justice, David Maraga to grow a thick skin whenever politicians criticize him because the stature of the position he holds attracts inevitable criticism.“I speak from my experience as politicians. Kenyans will say what they have to say and most of the times it will not be flattering. That is democracy. One of the things I have learned is just grown a thick skin Chief Justice,” he said.He said allowing criticism is the democracy a country wishes to have. The president was speaking on Friday during the launch of the State of the Judiciary and the Administration of Justice Report at the Supreme Court Buildings. He was addressing the issue that he branded Supreme Court judges crooks after nullification of the August 8th elections.Uhuru said, "Administrative of justice is attained when the legislative, the executive and the judiciary work together and not just when the judiciary acts alone.""We should be conscious of the judiciary's needs and render our support without delay or undue hesitation," he added. The President said that decision impacting the country should be carefully scrutinized before being undertaken due to adverse effects that it can have on the people and nation.“Any decision that negatively affects the desire of a better, prosperous life for the average Kenyan or their safety or wellbeing should be carefully interrogated before being undertaken," he said.
