Former Assistant Minister Kilemi Mwiria has threatened to ship out of President Uhuru Kenyatta-led Jubilee Party should the party fail to hold credible primaries.

Mwiria, who has declared his interest for the Meru governor's seat, will face a tough challenge for the ticket with Meru Senator Kirauti Murungi havIng declared interest as well. 

"If the Jubilee Party nominations will be marred by rigging, I will ditch the party and join another vehicle," he was quoted by The Standard. 

Speaking at Mbeu village in Tigania West constituency, Mwiria accused some leaders in the party of planning to issue direct tickets to selected candidates.

"The President and his deputy have made it clear that they have not endorsed any aspirant but I am aware of some leaders who want to get the party tickets through the back door," he said.
