Veteran Ugandan leader Yoweri Museveni insists he will resurrect after death owing to the fact that he practices Christianity, reports Daily Monitor.
Museveni, a close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta, has been under international microscope given his strained relationship with the opposition leaders.
“We are now all Christians because Jesus came, was crucified, was buried and resurrected. He gave us all hope that we shall resurrect,” he said at Lira Town on Saturday.
He added: “If there is no Christianity, there is no resurrection. I have not yet died and resurrected but I hope that will happen because I am a Christian.”
Prior to Monday’s Supreme Court of Kenya to uphold Uhuru’s victory, Museveni is one of few African leaders who had recognized his October victory.
Despite the close relationship between the two leaders, Uganda and Kenya however, have been wrangling over Migingo Island, situated in Lake Victoria.
