President Uhuru Kenyatta has called on kenyans to strive and ensure they protect freedom fought by veteran politician Kenneth Matiba.
Uhuru made the remarks during the burial of Matiba in Muranga county on Thursday
"Today we say farewell to an icon of this nation. We say goodbye to a Kenyan patriot who sacrificed to ensure Kenyans have freedom which is protected by the Constitution. In order to entrench democracy which Mzee Kenneth Stanley Matiba fought for, we must entrench peace and unity. May God rest his soul in everlasting peace," said Uhuru.
Matiba early this month at the Karen Hospital aged 85 years.
The second burial ceremony was conducted in Muranga county after the first on inNairobi.
The burial was attended by opposition chief Raila Odinga among other top leaders.
