ODM has described President Uhuru Kenyatta's criticism against ODM party leader Raila Odinga as toxic.
Uhuru recently turned the Jubilee Party's first National Governing Council meeting on Friday into an arena for attacking Mr Odinga.
Uhuru described the Cord leader as somebody who is backward and petty.
In response, a day later, the opposition leader told Uhuru he did not have any grudge with him was only raising issues of national concern.
And ODM Secretary General Agnes Zani said on Saturday as quoted by the Star: "The two gentlemen who got their current positions by false pretense have an attitude of lords and princes which does not augur well with democracy."
She addressed the media and read a statement reminding Uhuru and his Deputy William Ruto that the two symbolized national unity and should thus cease from dividing Kenyans.
Zani said it was shameful to watch the President speak carelessly live on television.
She said such utterances led to the 2007/08 Post-Election Violence in 2007.
"Uhuru and his deputy should stop running a campaign of hate and bigotry. The two should desist from utterances that can lead to another round of violence," she said.
The nominated senator said Mr Odinga will continue holding the government to account on a weekly basis for the next nine months.
