President Uhuru Kenyatta’s continuous attacks on the judiciary, particularly Chief Justice David Maraga, could cost him presidency, says Gideon Mamboleo.
A landmark ruling by four judges of the Supreme Court, nullified Uhuru’s victory, a move that was not taken lightly by the president.
And Mamboleo says personal attacks on Maraga could severely affect Uhuru’s support base in Kisii and Nyamira Counties, despite scoring well on August.
“Maraga is the senior most Kisii in government and any attack or intimidation directed to him may not go unpunished,” he says.
He further claims:”His support will deteriorate substantially and I am seeing a scenario where he may lose badly due to significance on the counties in question.”
Even though considered a NASA stronghold, Uhuru pulled a surprise after leading in Nyamira and scoring fairly well in Kisii County.
Although he has held a series of meeting with Gusii leaders, a section of opposition leaders staged a number of demonstrations in condemnation of attacks on Maraga.
