President Uhuru Kenyatta’s camp is now seeking to lure Martha Karua and Peter Kenneth to join their camp. Jubilee camp has now approached the two as Uhuru seeks to retain his seat.
The Jubilee party has so far managed to rope in some parties to form a single political outfit that will drive Uhuruto reelection bid in 2017 and are now making advances towards Karua and Kenneth as JAP seeks to stamp its authority in Central Kenya.
It has been revealed that a group from Mount Kenya interparty grassroots is behind the merger calls which they believe will ‘fight the mushrooming of tribal and regional parties.’
“They should help in the quest to merge the various parties into singular, formidable and national political entities,” said the group as quoted by a local daily.
Some parties have already headed to calls to fold their parties but Mwai Kibaki’s Party of National Unity and Kanu have rejected the calls.
