Despite earlier indications that he would appeal dismissal of a petition challenging election of Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama, Jubilee's Walter Nyambati may have given up.
Instead, Nyambati, a close ally and campaigner of President Uhuru Kenyatta, intends to come up with a 'resistance movement' that would put on check Governor Nyagarama.
"All is not lost because we shall form a resistance movement. Our county cannot go to dogs under our watch," said his Personal Assistant, Nick Kibeni.
He further said: "They used courts improperly and that will be rejected by people. Our dreams to reclaim Nyamira remains on course."
Last year, Uhuru had promised to ensure Nyamira goes back to ballot during a function at Nakuru State Lounge but his dreams were thwarted by Justice James Makau.
In his judgment last Wednesday, Makau noted, Nyambati's allegations were fictitious and did not meet the standard of proof.
The decision not to appeal at Kisumu Appeals Court brings to a culmination of a protracted electioneering mood in Nyamira.
