When Kenya was undergoing transition in 2002, political cutthroat competition was witnessed at least at every level of elective seats across the country.
And in Kitutu Masaba constituency, then represented by multiparty democracy hero George Anyona, such competition escalated even into physical fight between politician.
ODM treasurer Timothy Bosire, then contesting for Ford People ticket, would find himself in trouble with ex-soldier cum Jubilee top campaigner Walter Nyambati, who was also eyeing the ticket.
At Mash Park Hotel in the outskirts of Kisii Town, Nyambati, who would later win the seat in 2007, kicked Bosire after differing with him on nomination modality.
It took the intervention of Ford People presidential candidate Simon Nyachae, to rescue Bosire from the wrath of the ex-soldier.
So bitter is the rivalry between the two, that Bosire would topple Nyambati in 2013 elections, with sources indicating that they are not in communication until now.
But in 2017, the rivarly between the two significantly reduced when Nyambati opted to try Nyamira gubernatorial race where he emerged second.
Since 2013, Nyambati has been a key figure in President Uhuru Kenyatta's campaign team, partly making Uhuru to reward him with chairmanship of Jomo Kenyatta Foundation.
