Flamboyant city politician Simba Arati has been unanimously endorsed as Gusii community spokesperson post and would be installed later this month.

Known for his antics against Jubilee administration, Arati is however not a stranger to controversies in Nairobi politics.

Although the decision may evoke yet another bitter rivalry among NASA and Jubilee politicians, the event is largely pushed by radical youths opposed to octogenarians in the community.

"We shall install Arati as our spokesperson. This is the time to stamp authority as Gusii people," said youth leader Beavon Magare.

Similar sentiments were made by Irene Mayaka, an ODM nominated MCA but still with legal challenges: "He has proven and he deserves it."

News about the February 18th event were received with excitement in various social media platforms with majority of youths endorsing him.

Traditionally, Fred Matiang'i, who holds the most powerful political position other than the independent Judiciary leader David Maraga, should be the de facto leader.

For many years, the community has largely remained divided with only 2002 elections remaining the only moment they voted as a block for Simon Nyanchae.

Details regarding his inauguration remains scanty but it is understood that the idea is being pushed by youthful generation.
