Uhuru Kenyatta should be a jovial man after IEBC declared him the president-elect on Friday last week, at the Bomas of Kenya, however, a big headache is facing the Head of State on matters rewarding top loyal political losers in the August 8, polls.

On December 16, 2016, while issuing title deeds to squatters at Chebyuk settlement scheme Uhuru promise plum jobs for losers in Jubilee party primaries who will work with the ruling party."Those who will lose during the nominations should support the winners since the government will accommodate everyone," Uhuru said.

The list of loyal Jubilee losers is bigger now and Uhuru must ensure he fulfills his promise to ensure his deputy William Ruto gets a good team that will realise his dream to lead the nation in the 2022 polls.

Uhuru has two groups to satisfy, those who failed from areas perceived as NASA strongholds and those from perceived Jubilee areas.

From Western Kenya, the election losers include former Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba, Ken Lusaka(Bungoma), Boniface Otsiula(Bumula), David Were(Matungu), Chris Obure(Kisii), Joyce Lay(Taita Taveta), James Rege(Karachuonyo), Zainab Chidzuga(Kwale), Masoud Mwahima(Likoni), Joy Gwendo(Nominated), Gideon Mungaro(Kilifi), and Mustafa Idd(Kilifi South).

There are also those leaders who failed from the perceived Jubilee strongholds.

Cecile Mbarire(Runyenjes), Maina Kamanda(Starehe), Mpuru Mburi(Tigania East), Martha Karua(Kirinyaga), Njogu Barua(Gichugu), Dennis Waweru(Dagoreti South), Beatrice Elachi(Dagoreti North), Alice Ng'ang'a(Thika Town), Kinuthia Mbugua(Nakuru), Benjamin Lang'at(Ainamoi), Rachel Shebesh(Nairobi), Mary Wambui(Othaya), Samuel Gichigi(Kipipiri), Esther Murugu(Nyeri Town), Samuel Chepkonga(Ainabkoi), David Wafula(Saboti), and Jamleck Kamau(Kigumo).

Others on the list are the key public figures who stood with the current regime during the campaigns.

The pressure is now on Uhuru to ensure he balances the numbers as it has been revealed by sources at the office of the president that some of these poll losers will have to be given jobs away from the country to break their grassroots network.

Unconfirmed reports have indicated that the loser of Kisii senatorial seat Mr Charles Nyachae could be appointed to the position of speaker of the national assembly.
