Former State House political advisor Joshua Kutuny now wants acing Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i to lift the ban imposed on NASA demonstrators, arguing that the strategy is ‘harmful’.

As a strategy to counter anti – IEBC demonstrations, Matiang’i banned protestors from accessing Central Business Districts of Kisumu, Mombasa and Nairobi.

But the Cherangany MP says reported killings of unarmed demonstrators could precipitate violence in cosmopolitan region if not curbed.

“I want to bring to attention of the CS that some of us come from cosmopolitan regions. We know demonstrations are provided in the constitution and it’s improper for police to use force,” he said.

Kutuny further said: “the use of force to quell demos is counterproductive for Jubilee since we are falling to the trap of Raila Odinga who is used to violence. He cannot beat Uhuru in a free and fair poll.”

With other Jubilee leaders choosing the hard path to solve the stalemate, Kutuny has persistently called for dialogue, an idea that was backed by Kabando Kabando.

For the fourth week in a row, NASA supporters have been thronging to streets calling for resignation of a number of IEBC officials.
