Kenya's independence First Lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta will lead spirited reconciliation campaigns in the opposition Nyanza stronghold on Sunday.
A statement by Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama indicates that Ngina will be accompanied by a sction of First family members, with President Uhuru Kenyatta's sister Kristina Pratt also expected.
"I am happy to inform you that this Sunday I shall play host to the Fisrt family. Mama Ngina Kenyatta will be attending fund drive at St Joseph's Nyamira Catholic.
"This is part of the nationwide campaigns whose intention is to bring unity among our people. I urge all of you to attend," said the statement.
Since the surprise unity deal between Uhuru and opposition leader Raila Odinga, politicians from either side of the political divide have been seen visiting former hostile regions.
On Saturday, controversial Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria was part of the fund drive in the interior parts of Homa Bay.
At Nyamira, a region perceived to be ODM stronghold, the first family may however witness bitter rivalry between the governor's brigade and Jubilee local politicians.
