President Uhuru Kenyatta's lead campaigners in Nyamira County on Friday received a cold reception after local residents denied them a chance to campaign while at a burial of a Gusii legendary musician.

The turn of events started when the agitated crowd called upon former Kisii County Women Representative aspirant Doris Aburi to step out of the podium by booing her while chanting anti Jubilee songs when she started to campaign for Uhuru Kenyatta.

Doris however obeyed their call along her team and stepped out of the event and the crowd calmed down.

This is not the first time the Jubilee campaigners in Nyamira county met with hostility as most recently even Acting interior CS Fred Matiang'i was also booed and chased out of an event.

Some of the locals however defended the move and said jubilee has been using public allegedly to woo the locals to support Jubilee.
