President Uhuru Kenyatta’s hunt for Kitui West Constituency vote has been dealt a major blow after a section of Jubilee supporters demanded him to drop a group of his campaigners in the region, Star has reported.

According to the supporters, the so-called professionals, who claimed to have drummed up support for the President and his Deputy William Ruto, are only self-centered persons.

Speaking at a hotel in Kabati market on Sunday, the supporters said that the campaigners pocketed close Sh.6 million meant for campaigns. The supporters are calling for their replacement for the sake of President Uhuru’s re-election bid ahead of the October exercise. Led by Jubilee agent Justus Vonza, the supporters have said that Uhuru will blame himself if no action is taken against these professionals with immediate effect.

“These are self-centered people who collected money but neither campaigned for the President or the party’s candidates. It is the reason why Jubilee performed dismally in Kitui West in the August 8 poll,”he said, as quoted by the local daily.

In the meantime, President Uhuru is banking on Ukambani votes to beat National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate, Raila Amolo Odinga following the nullification of the Presidential election by the Supreme Court.
