On Thursday, Uhuru held closed-door talks with ward representatives from Kisii and Nyamira counties to discuss matters development.

Masira, after the meeting, said Uhuru had insisted on timely completion of the Kemera-Amabuko, Metamaywa-Kebirigo and Chepilat-Chabera roads whose construction has been slow.

“It doesn’t mean that when the opposition MCAs go to State House we are going to take bribes. The President assured us of the expeditious completion of the road projects,” he said.

“We had tasked him to give a clear stand on the same because some of these roads have shown little progress since 2013 and now we will be assessing his government keenly,” he added.

Masira also revealed that the government will give Sh500 million for the upgrade of Nyamira Hospital to a referral facility and an additional Sh400 million to give Keroka District Hospital a face-lift  to level five facility.

“He promised to tour the county soon and the good thing is that his government has already set aside Sh900 million for upgrading of Nyamira and Keroka hospitals to referral and level five hospitals respectively. We are optimistic that all this will be done before the elections,” he said.
