A section of Gusii leaders who had paid courtesy to President Uhuru Kenyatta at Nakuru State Lounge on Wednesday made a U-turn barely an hour later and started praising ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Over 1000 people from Kisii and Nyamira Counties under the leadership of education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i had vowed to support Uhuru.
A video that has gone viral online captured a number of them enjoying a popular music played in NASA campaigns with a number of them maintaining that they will vote for Odinga.
They burst into dances and songs from Nakuru to Kisii with most of them condemning Uhuru over his continued attacks on Chief Justice David Maraga.
Earlier, Uhuru had assured them that he will ensure ODM governors in the two counties lose their seats in election petitions filed in different courts.
He also urged them to support his bid in October 17th adding that he will continue working closely with local leaders for progressive development.
In August elections, Uhuru managed to beat Odinga in Nyamira County, a region that has been hugely regarded as an opposition territory.
