In a rare move, Lawyer Ahmedassir Abdullahi has hailed Jubilee Government for allowing the swearing in of NASA leader Raila Odinga as the People's President on Tuesday.
Ahmedassir, a senior counsel and key member of President Uhuru Kenyatta's defense team during the Presidential petition, is one of Raila's top critics.
Nevertheless, in his post on Twitter, the controversial lawyer congratulated Jubilee administration for allowing the event take place at Uhuru Park stating, "it is a good move to allow people to be themselves peacefully."
" By facilitating/ ignoring the thousands of Kenyans who participated in the mock swearing in of Hon. Raila as the Peoples President, GOK has shown that the most lethal weapon in its armory is to allow Kenyans to be themselves peacefully, even if they behave as they did on Tuesday," Ahmedassir said.
The government had vowed to stop the event but in an unexpected twist, all police officers who were manning Uhuru Park ahead of the swearing in were withdrawn, paving way for NASA supporters and leaders to stream into the historic venue.
