Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has linked the planned swearing in of NASA leader Raila Odinga to the Supreme Court ruling nullifying presidential elections.
Through his Twitter account, Ahmednasir explained the decision to nullify Uhuru’s win from August elections created space for secession and swearing-in calls by the opposition.
Ahmednasir represented President Uhuru Kenyatta in the election petition.
He said that Kenyans failed to pay attention to the ruling by the court.
“This nonsense of secession/swearing of the people's President is the creation of the Court, ” Ahmednasir stated. One issue Kenyans haven't given serious thought/reflections is how calamitous & destabilising the flawed judgment by Supreme Court to cancel the 8th election presidential result has become, ” he added.
After the nullification, the lawyer criticised the David Maraga led court, accusing it of being political.
The opposition has maintained that Raila will be sworn-in on January 30 at Uhuru Park grounds.
It is not clear weather the venue will be used for the ocassion since two other groups claim to have already granted the permit to use the facility.
