Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi has reacted to last week's meeting between President Uhuru Kenyatta and National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga.
According to the lawyer, Raila has always played second fiddle in all political unions he has got himself into as depicted both during the times of LDP and now ODM,
In a tweet on Friday, Abdullahi believes Kenyans are not subjecting the meeting to an objective critique and this proves unfortunate to the opposition chief.
"I dont think Kenyans are subjecting the "handshake" or "bridge" btw JUBILEE & ODM to an objective critique & that is unfortunate. For instance why is Hon Raila & his parties i.e LDP, ODM always the blushing bride in political marriages? When will he marry a bride of his choice?" added Abdullahi.
The meeting has caused tension in the NASA coalition with the other co-principals feeling left out and abandoned by Raila.
However, ODM legislators have fully backed the meeting between Raila and Uhuru and maintain that the meeting comprised of two presidential individuals and nothing else.
“As far as ODM is concerned, Uhuru and Raila were the major presidential candidates last year. They met as individuals. This has nothing to do with NASA. The three other NASA leaders have their own parties. They can decide whether or not to back the deal. If they bolt, it will have no impact on the current deal," remarked Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya on Tuesday as quoted by The Standard.
