[Photo|@K24tv]President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto were decllared president elect and deputy, respectively, by the Independnet Electoral and Bpundaries commisiion (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati, Friday eveningg.Chebukati said Uhuru garnered 8,203,290 votes (54.27) per cent in the August 8 polls against his closest challenger, Raila Odinga's 6,762, 224 (44.7 per cent).He attained at least 25 per cent in 35 counties. Raila got 25 per cent in 29 counties.Below is his short message after he received the certificate from Chebukati, at the Bomas of Kenya."Asante sana IEBC for a job well done. Asante our staff and the party. Asante our politicians for a job well done.To our worthy competitors we are friends, we are not enemies. I extend a hand of friendship and partnership.Let us all engage, dialogue and build our country together. Elections come and go, but Kenya is here to stay. Let us reach out to one another.Reach out to you neighbour, shake their hand and tell them elections are now over, politicians come and go, but we are still good neighbours."
