Keen to eclipse Raila once again, Uhuru's campaign team is now focusing on the regions or counties that are considered battlegrounds or where NASA's influence is fading.
According to the Star, Uhuru's political machinery is going to carry out intensive campaigns in Kajiado, Narok,Bungoma, Kisii, Nyamira,Machakos, Nairobi,Lamu, Kwale and Turkana counties.
During the August 8 contest, Raila beat Uhuru in all but three of the above regions with Uhuru's wins coming only in Kajiado, Narok and Nyamira counties. However, Uhuru is keen to rewrite the script this time round.
In Machakos, the President will be banking on the influence of Governor Alfred Mutua who is supporting his re-election while in Kwale, Governor Salim Mvurya is the man to deliver the county's over 280,000 registered votes.
