Jubilee leaders may have dropped their periodical defense of IEBC officers, a move that is aimed at vindicating the president from alleged interference with independent institutions.
The Wafula Chebukati led commission is under fire from opposition team, which has maintained that Kenya will not go for polls without radical surgery in the polls agent.
And Gideon Mamboleo says Uhuru Kenyatta’s new tact is set to portray Raila Odinga as a selfish individual who is unprepared for repeat elections.
“He no longer talks in defense of IEBC and wants to exonerate himself from alleged interference with independent institutions,” he says.
The political scientist adds:”He just wants polls at whichever the date IEBC deems necessary and says he is ready. He is trying to make the world believe that he has no control over the electoral body.”
Fresh from judiciary outburst, Mamboleo says, Uhuru is playing cool to show the world that he is a victim of independent institutions decisions than his main rival Raila Odinga.
On his part, Odinga has periodically come into the defense of the judiciary and at times questioning the preparedness of IEBC.
