President Uhuru’s message to Kenyans on the eve of the new year was full of lies and empty rhetoric, Mwingi Central Member of Parliament Gideon Mulyungi has said.
Mulyungi said that the number of employment opportunities created, water supplied to Kenyans, kilometres of roads tarmacked and the number of households lit with electric power was the greatest lies that the president made to Kenyans.
Speaking at his home on Sunday, the lawmaker stated that his constituency had not benefited from the central government.
"In the last five years that Jubilee has been in power, my constituency has witnessed not even a single kilometer of tarmac road built or even any mega projects; I am inviting the president to tour my constituency and show residents the massive development he claimed to have actualized across the nation,'' said Mulyungi.
The legislator accused the president of pure dictatorship which has seen many innocent Kenyans lose their lives in demonstrations under his watch.
The MP said that the only achievement that the President Uhuru has been able to accomplish is seeing Kenyans lose billions of money in corruption and undergoing immense suffering due to endless labor strikes which have been affecting the country.
He called upon the president to show leadership by bringing opposition leaders on board to chart a way forward for the country, as the on-going political wrangles will only scare away investors and make life unbearable for Kenyans.
