President Uhuru Kenyatta during a pre-recorded interview aired during Citizen TV's Sunday Live news program on October 22, 2017. Uhuru says IEBC has itself to blame if unable to deliver free, fair and credible poll on October 26 repeat poll. [Photo: Citizen Digital]Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman Wafula Chebukati has got no reason not to deliver a free, fair and credible presidential election on Thursday this week.President Uhuru Kenyatta has said that the Chebukati-led electoral agency has been given mandate by the constitution to prepare for polls and must do so without excuse."As a government, we have facilitated Chebukati to prepare for this election adequately. We have made no demands to him other than to prepare for a transparent repeat poll," Kenyatta told Citizen TV, Sunday on a pre-recorded interview. He added: Also, all we demand from Chebukati is to allow Kenyans make their democratic choice on October 26 by ensuring there is a free and fair poll without fail."Uhuru also reiterated that there will be no talk between him and NASA leader Raila Odinga, before October 26, mediated by Chebukati asking him to 'please do that which is in your constitutional mandate'."For now, the choice is for Kenyans to make. We, however, as Jubilee realize that we cannot move ahead with one part of the country and leave the other. Our objective is to have an all-inclusive government. We are willing to incorporate people even from those areas we won't get votes. In short, choose now, talk later," Uhuru said.
