Makueni Governor Professor Kivutha Kibwana wants President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Jubilee troops to apologize to Chief Justice (CJ) David Maraga and Kenyans for allegedly disrespecting and discrediting the Supreme Court verdict that nullified his (Uhuru) re-election.
Kibwana says that Jubilee’s continued onslaught on the Supreme court judges Maraga is ill advised and shameful.
Speaking to journalists at his office on Tuesday, Governor Kibwana said that it is shameful for the president to lead attacks on the independent institution which he vowed to protect when he took oath as president.
“It is shameful for the president to launch attacks on the judiciary when he should be leading as an example in respecting the institutions,” he said as quoted by the Standard.
Kibwana asked Uhuru to be a gentleman and respect the Court judges.
He said that it is the same court judge who will swear him into office in the event that he retains power in the repeat presidential election slated for October 17.
The Wiper governor at the same time claimed that Uhuru has panicked because he knows he is going to lose.
“The president outburst is a clear indication that he is afraid of facing off with Raila Odinga,” Kibwana said. The Wiper governor said that NASA’s win in the repeat presidential election is a done deal.
He said that Raila Odinga has the numbers to beat Uhuru hands down.
The governor urged the Kamba community to stand with Raila, saying that the region’s future is guaranteed only if Raila Odinga wins the presidential election.
Uhuru has been under criticism for attacking the Supreme Court judges who nullified his re-election. President Kenyatta will face off with Raila again in repeat presidential election slated for October 17.
