President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party has suffered an early blow after an estimated 40 party agents failed to show up at various polling stations during the repeat presidential poll in Mombasa.

Reports say that the individuals had already been paid.

Speaking after casting his vote at PHD in Mwembe Tayari, Tourism CS Najib Balala who also serves as the party’s campaign coordinator at the Coast regretted that the said agents had let down the ruling party.

But he said they will be dealt with.

CS Balala said; “The agents did not show up in a few polling stations. This is a problem of dishonesty. But we are going to take legal action against the agents who did not show up. I want to warn them that as Jubilee Party, we are going to deal with them.”

According to the CS, majority of the 40 agents are from Mvita and Kisauni constituencies and had been trained before taking up the call to represent the party during the repeat poll.

Low voter turnout has been reported in the region, which voted for NASA’s Raila Odinga heavily in the August poll.
