Earlier, PSCU has dispatched a brief notification to all media houses that only indicated the president will be at Harambee House on Friday.

Indepedent investigations by the Sunday Standard indicates that the DP was anxiously waiting for the call to join in the conference but never came to be.

"Congratulations Pres Uhuru and Raila for being statesmen. You have risen to the moment for Kenya against hate and negative ethnicity," said Ruto.

"This is not the time to cry foul about dialogue and consultations. Let us work for our people," added Ruto, who has since embraced the unitary talks despite being left out.

It is not clear why the President decided to go mum on Ruto despite reports indicating that he had tipped him about the press conference.

Early this year, the president also caught the DP flat-footed after he named a partial cabinet that Ruto is said to have protested against.
