Speaking in a rally in Dagoretti, tge head of state said the Jubilee party narrowly lost the seat in 2013 after it fielded separate candidates to sqaure it out with ODM's  Evans Kidero who went ahead to win the seat and asked the residents to vote as a block to Sonko.

"I believe you all recall what happened in 2013 when we fielded Hon Ferdinand Waititu and Jimnah Mbaru. Our votes were divided andcwe went on to lose out to the opposition.Let's not repeat that mistake," he said.

Uhuru also extended the same appeal for other elective seats such as senate and women representative which he said should also go to Jubilee.

However the ruling party could be staring at the same predicament following a divisive party nominations in March that saw former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth enter the gubernatorial race as an independent candidate.

It however remains to be seen whether the president's latest charm offensive will guarantee Sonko the much needed block.
