A charged president Uhuru Kenyatta sometimes in October last year, summoned Gusii leaders to Nakuru State Lounge in his bid to launch a reelection campaign after nullification of his victory.
At the meeting attended by at least 2000 leaders from both Nyamira and Kisii Counties, a confident Uhuru maintained that Jubilee would carry the day in Nyamira gubernatorial campaign.
"I have gone through records and I can assure you that we are monitoring Nyamira gubernatorial petition. We must the court battle.
"We won fairly but our victory was robbed by opponents. This is a matter that I will not take lightly," said Uhuru.
But on Wednesday, Justice James Makau dismissed the petition filed by Walter Nyambati of Jubilee, slapping him with Sh4 million fine.
In the ruling, Makau says, the petitioner failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt allegations of voter bribery and extra polling stations.
"Following thorough scrutiny, I here by declare that the elections conducted were free, fair and verifiable," read the statement.
The ruling brings to a culmination of a protracted rivalry between Jubilee and ODM that saw rival camps trade barbs openly on social media.
