The win of President Uhuru Kenyatta in general elections against his rival Raila Odinga was one of the major achievements that the Citizens think the nation made in the year 2017.John Kihiu a resident of Makongeni areaThika town and a church leader has said that prayers that the country had always made to have president Uhuru Kenyatta win for a second term were answered, adding that the relief was a great achievement to note in the year 2017.“What else could we have asked the Almighty God, if not a prayer to have our President finish the good work he started in 2013? We are happy that he is reenergized man and now ready to work for Kenyans,” said Kihiu.However, the year didn't lack its fair share of drawbacks as it was felt by quite a number of citizens."Insecurity is one of the main problems we experienced here in Thika because crime rate was very high in the just ended year,” said Daniel Mugambi who is also a resident of Makongeni area.Many of the residents expressed high hopes of having a much better, safe and successful 2018 for all Kenyans
