President Uhuru Kenyatta’s support in the entire Gusii region could shrink further over continued attacks targeting Chief Justice David Maraga, says Gideon Mamboleo.
Maraga, who hails from Nyamira, has been subjected to unprecedented criticism following Supreme Court’s nullification of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s victory.
And Mamboleo says Uhuru’s continued criticism on Maraga will deal him a huge blow in his quest for Gusii votes in October.
“Maraga is the senior most Kisii in a public office and subjecting him to unprecedented criticism might cost Uhuru badly.
“Going to public forums saying that you will deal with his is catastrophic and I am seeing a negative impact in October,” he says.
In August, Uhuru’s support base increased exponentially and he even pulled a surprise following his tremendous performance in Nyamira.
Already, Nyamira locals have taken to streets umpteenth time in solidarity with the embattled Second Chief Justice under the new constitution.
