Embattled Cabinet Secretaries are said to have boycotted duty despite the government's directive that they continue serving, reports the People Daily.

Thirteen (13) ministers failed to make to President Uhuru's first batch of nominees with the government refuting claims that they were sacked.

"The president has nit sacked anyone. All ministers are required to continue executing their mandate until an otherwise communication," said Manoah Esipisu.

Among those retained are Fred Matiang'i, Jose Mucheru, James Macharia, Henry Rotich and Najib Balala.

Apparently, a source says, only Cabinet Secretary in charge of Public service Cecily Kariuki reported to work on Monday.

"Most of them are scared and do not know their fate. They have avoided their respective offices with some trying to lobby for reappointment."

The biggest casualties of Uhuru's bold step include Amina Mohammed, Mwangi Kiunjuri and Eugene Wamalwa.
