Opposition leader Raila Odinga claims that President Uhuru Kenyatta is planning to raid his NASA team by wooing a number of legislators in an aim to weaken him.

Moments before the controversial repeat poll, Uhuru had managed to recruit politicians from the NASA coalition who had failed in August poll.

But according to Odinga, uhuru is targeting to reach his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka before reaching out to Wiper MPs.

"He will dangle a position in cabinet for Kalonzo and thereafter raid Wiper to ensure MPs cross over to Jubilee. He wants to create a single party state," claimed Odinga.

Legal scholar Prof Mutakha Kang'u says the tactic would only work towards legitimizing Uhuru's presidency should he be sworn in for the second term.

"Most parts of the country did not vote and to legitimize his leadership, he is likely to reach out to many MPs so as to make Odinga look like a lone ranger. That is likely to happen."

Although NASA will not challenge Uhuru's victory in Supreme Court, Odinga however says he will revert to civil disobedience to push for elections in 90 days time.

At a Church service on Sunday, Uhuru called for national reconciliation, a move that further hints the possibility of recruiting members of opposition to cabinet.
