The message behind the Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta’s handshake has continued to be received differently across the country even by the political class. The latest to show interest in the handshake is President Uhuru Kenyatta’s own sister, Nyokabi Kenyatta.

Speaking at Methodist church Kaaga on Sunday, Nyokabi Kenyatta, Kenyatta said that Kenya is one nation that thrives in diversity and peaceful co-existence.

“It doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from. We are all Kenyans and must live in peace like brothers and sisters. The other day you saw these two leaders that many of us thought were enemies greet each other, let everyone, despite their differences do the same,” said Nyokabi.

Others who accompanied Uhuru’s sister were former Nairobi and Meru women representatives Rachael Shebesh and Florence Kajuju respectively.

The two former Women Representatives insisted on spreading the handshake stating that it is the only way that Kenya could move forward in terms of development.

Shebesh asked the church to take up the responsibility of ensuring that the handshake spreads in the furthest of villages.
