Speaking in Ndumberi after meeting women groups on Monday, Wambui  said that 2022 politics will derail the country's development agenda.

She observed that the country is already in an election mood as a result of the continued politicking.

"Elected leaders across the divide must halt these succession debates and focus on serving the Kenyan people," she said.

She observed that Kenyans are in dire need of services and that elected leaders are doing a deservice by engaging in petty 2022 succession politics.

She asked leaders to help president Uhuru Kenyatta's government fulfill its development agenda.

"Too much politicking will end up denying the great people of Kenyans services which they are entitled to as per the constitution," she added.

President Uhuru Kenyatta's sister also asked elected leaders to unite the country.

She said that unity and peace is what will see the country realize her development goals.

She asked Kenyans to remain united and guard the peace that is prevailing in the country.

While lauding Uhuru-Raila truce, she appealed on church leaders and civil society groups to support national unity and reconciliation.
