President Uhuru Kenyatta's son on Saturday married his long-time girlfriend at a Kikuyu cultural wedding.

The ceremony that took place at an undisclosed location was attended by close relatives and friends.

Jomo Kenyatta is the first son of Kenya's fourth president.

He is said to have got engaged to the lady reportedly from Nyanza region in June.

Before the highly secretive wedding, the two lovebirds had been seen together in several public events.

Some of the public events when the pair was seen together included Jamhuri Day celebrations and when US President Barack Obama was in the country.

The event was purely traditional and most people in attendance wore native regalia.

They are expected to finalise their marriage early 2017.
