President Uhuru Kenyatta was among thousands of Kenyans who sent congratulatory messages to the winning duo of Eliud Kipchoge and Vivian Cheruiyot after impressive wins at the London Marathon.
The two were joined by another Kenyan Brigid Kosgei, who won silver in the women’s event behind Cheruiyot.
Kenyatta, who has been attending the Commonwealth Summit in London, sent a message on his Facebook page congratulating the pair, saying they made the country proud.
“Hongera Eliud Kipchoge and Vivian Cheruiyot for winning the 2018 #LondonMarathon and for reaffirming #MagicalKenya's place in global athletics. #Kenya is proud of you,” he said.
Other Kenyans as well were not left out, as they took to social media to congratulate the duo.
